Wild Forages PNW

We are proud to be a Washington & Oregon wild edible adventure company, formally known as PNW wild mushroom adventures since 2018.

At Wild Forages PNW we inspire people to explore and connect with nature through the art of foraging. Our guided adventures teach the skills to identify wild mushrooms and edible plants while fostering a deep respect for the environment, sustainability, and self-reliance. We are committed to building a knowledgable community that values the land, its resources, and the joy of discovering wild food.

Our mission is to teach the fundamentals of foraging, helping people connect with nature and confidently identify wild edible foods. We offer guided foraging adventures in the spring and fall, taking participants through diverse forest habitats to explore seasonal mushrooms and edible plants.

Our expert guides will teach you how to recognize the ideal growing conditions for various fungi and plants, including elevations, soil temperatures, and their symbiotic relationships with forest trees. Our adventures are more than just forages they are a wilderness survival experience.

Our goal isn’t just to help people find mushrooms.

It’s to help people slow down, observe the land differently, build confidence outdoors, and leave with skills and memories they can carry for life.

Whether you’re completely new to foraging or already experienced in the woods, our outings are designed to be welcoming, educational, and deeply engaging.

What Makes Us Different

During our guided outings, participants learn:

• Mushroom identification and safety

• Habitat recognition and forest ecology

• Seasonal patterns and elevation zones

• Sustainable and ethical harvesting practices

• Wild edible plants and medicinal species

• Navigation of Pacific Northwest ecosystems

We believe foraging is about developing a relationship with the land. Every season offers a different lesson, and every forest has something to teach.

A Community Experience

Wild Forages PNW was created to bring people together through shared experiences in nature. Many of our participants arrive as strangers and leave as friends after spending a day exploring forests, sharing discoveries, learning together, and reconnecting with something deeply human. Our outings are intentionally designed to create a calm, respectful, family-friendly environment where curiosity, education, and appreciation for nature come first.

Our Values

We believe in:

• Respect for nature and wildlife

• Sustainable harvesting practices

• Education over exploitation

• Community over competition

• Safety, preparedness, and stewardship

• Slowing down and being present outdoors

We encourage ethical foraging habits that help preserve these ecosystems for future generations.

Expectations & Boundaries

To help create the best possible experience for everyone, we ask all participants to arrive prepared, respectful, and open to learning.

Please understand:

• Mushroom growth varies naturally with weather and seasonal conditions

• Harvest quantities are never guaranteed

• Our experiences are educational and immersive by nature

• Public outings are dog-free to help maintain a calm, focused, and wildlife- conscious environment

• Participants should be physically prepared for uneven terrain and changing weather conditions

Our goal is to create meaningful outdoor experiences that are safe, enjoyable, educational, and respectful of both nature and fellow participants.

For us, this work is about more than mushrooms.

We’re honored to share these experiences with every person who joins us in the wild.

We look forward to foraging with you.
